Some of the kinds of problems you can consult us for include:
• Grief and loss
• Experiences of depression or anxiety
• Experiences of trauma
• Experiences of violence and abuse
• Men’s violence
• Conflict or struggles in families and relationships
• Problematic drug and/or alcohol use
• Worry and distress
As part of the counselling we aim to support you to make choices about the problems that you are facing based on your own values and preferred ways of living and relating with others.
We do not believe that counselling should be experienced as painful or distressing. Instead we are interested to work with you in ways that are supportive and allow space to talk about those ways of living and relating you are most interested in.
The number of times we meet with people for counselling is varied. Most people find that long term counselling is not necessary. The frequency of counselling sessions will be determined by what you find helpful. This often changes over time.
